An Uncommon Assignment Attracts An Unusual Adversary

This quote has been ringing in my heart for a few days now. It’s so powerful to think of the creation you are designed to master. The question is, what did you have to go through to be able to sit back and be in awe about the creation you designed to the best to your abilities? Everyone’s story, everyone’s path and everyone’s execution is different but there is one thing in common: the challenge. To make it plain, let’s break down the quote. An unlikely task that you are faced with or have been faced with will bring further a rare challenge.

Now, let’s use it in an example. Nancy goes to work day in and day out. While she is at work she performs the tasks that are set for her and diligently work towards accomplishing her work to a successful completion. Once she has completed her work or her required shift, she packs up her belongs and precedes home. The next morning Nancy repeats the same task until her designated day off. Upon Nancy’s return to her work desk, she noticed an assignment that was out of the norm. After consulting with her peers and her managers, she begins to think that this is an impossible task to do and complete before 4:30 pm sharp. Instead of causing conflict and becoming increasingly irate, Nancy finds her happy place and try’s to figure out how to compete this assignment. After hours of paving the paint, she was able to figure it out and complete the assignment but after 5:45 pm. The next morning, she received an email from her manager thanking her for a job well done and offering her a promotion. Within the body of the email it reads, “This was a test of your character and your dedication…”. The challenge granted Nancy a promotion she has been working so hard to get.

Think of the challenges in your life. How hard have you worked to accomplish them with grace, peace and dignity? It may be an uncommon request for you to do and extremely difficult to get through but what if you are being tested to see if you are deserving of the gift? What if the assignment is not necessarily for you to complete but for someone else to get the victory from their struggles? You can be Nancy with the new promotion and a strong work ethic and leadership capabilities that Jamal the misunderstood associate needs. Have you thought out the great impact your assignment can have in someone else’s life? Your assignment is meant for you to feel uncomfortable to push you to be the absolute best you.

Remember this: 1 Peter 5:10 “But after you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who calls you to share his eternal glory in union with Christ, will himself perfect you and give you firmness, strength, and a sure foundation.”
